The Vegemite Little Aussie Reader scrapbooks have been designed to encourage parents to record their child's language development and provide helpful suggestions on sharing books, rhymes, songs, play and conversation with their child.

The scrapbooks are currently out of stock but you can download the modified sheets (below) that will help you make your own. The majority of the sheets are line drawings ready for you and your child to add your creative flair!

Make your own book

Apart from making your own scrapbook, why not try making your own picture-book for your child. Here are some tips...

• Use acid free card or heavy paper to prevent photos from going yellow
• Try decorating with stickers, ribbon, paints or borders
• Choose a theme that your child is interested in - your family, trucks, animals, food etc.
• Use your old or new photos
• Laminating each page will help you book last
• Put all the pages together and tie with cable ties, ribbon or string
• Pictures from magazines, shopping catalogues and greeting cards are all great to use
• Use simple words and sentences to tell your child's story
